Close to My Heart

Finding my table top and a little Rock ‘n’ Roll

Well,  I didn’t get any crafting done yesterday, but I did uncover most of my crafting table.  I still have the supplies I took to CTMH convention to put away along with some odds and ends, but cleaning up a space on my craft table is much nicer than on the tractor in the sun baling dirty hay!   I think we are done baling for the day, so need to make some dinner, do some clean up, and then MAYBE I’ll get some creative time.    I think being able to craft would definitely go a long way into rediscovering happy!0613-rediscover-CTMH-FB-coverpic

I added a link on my home page for the Rock and Roll technique and realized that when I change  that page, it will be gone, so I’m adding the link in my blog so it can be searched for later.    (Trying to become more blog savvy!)  The name on the video is Rock ‘n’ Roll.  You can watch them all if you want!

CTMH Boxes keep arriving

These wonderful boxes full of the new product from Close to my Heart keep arriving and all I’ve been able to do is quickly look through them and stack them on my table.

New Product has arrived!

New Product has arrived!

July is our heaviest harvest season, and so unless I want to get up really, really early, or prop my eyes open with toothpicks after all the work for the day is done, I can only wait until we can’t be in the fields.  I am staying on top of all the other household chores so if that day happens I won’t feel too guilty about taking some creative time to play with the new goodies!

Crafting, Blogging and CTMH, Oh My!

Well, here it is my first blog post.  What do you put in a first blog post?  Well, as a singer the words from this song come to mind. “Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.”  So,  for me, the beginning would be an introduction to your captain at the helm of this blog.

(Hoping this doesn’t become a “what do you want your obituary to read. . .” ) My name is Alr photoAmanda Ross and I live in the beautiful upper peninsular of Michigan.  I am enjoying the 18th year of marriage to my best friend and we are trying to raise our children intentionally.  As a family we are growing in faith each day.

I hope to use this blog to encourage and inspire creativity.  It will mostly focus on scrapbooking, card creating and paper crafting, but by no means be limited to that.  I was once told by my university advisor that a diamond has many facets, and I was very much a strong well cut diamond.   Therefore expect a vast array of topics and discussions on this blog.

Spelling is not an area of strength, in fact, it is possibly my greatest weakness.  That being said, my mother is a retire English teacher and instilled in me proper grammar and often drilled us with those darn rules.  So, if you enjoy correcting mistakes and circling them with “the red pen,” feel free to print out my blogs and have at it.  I do have the motto that it takes a creative mind to be able to spell the same word several different ways.

Looking forward to this journey into the cyber-creative world.  Please join me!
