Close to My Heart

Valentine Treats (for my son’s Class)

Well, I we are still playing catch-up here, but slowly step by step we are making progress. So, I purchased some individual rolo candies and some chocolate kisses. I stacked three rolos and topped it off with one kiss. I used glue dots to help hold the stack together. I then took a 1 7/8 x 3 1/2 piece of goldrush card stock and ran it through a crimper. I wrapped the candy stack (using adhesive runner on three sides of the goldrush card stock) and then added our message and punched heart with the name of the recipient on a ribbon. Whipped these together in about 1 hour and then made a few more for a spa day I had at the house yesterday. Everyone loved them. The tag says “I’ll get right to the ‘point.’ Happy Valentine’s Day!”
I don’t belive the pre-k kids understood, but I’m sure they loved the candy.
Valentine PencilsSorry for the blurry photo.  It was the best one that I got before I packaged them up and sent them to school!  (When I looked at it on the camera I thought it was fine, but perhaps my eyes were too blurry!)

Still working on it

Well, I’ve made some progress with the website, and also with the computer.   My husband reloaded everything this weekend while I took our daughter on a confirmation retreat.  It already crashed again this morning, so who knows how long this will last.  I did manage to update the new consultant kit, but so far that’s all.  I’ll keep plugging away at it!

The link on the front page is broken, but I hope to fix that right now.  Here’s a list of everything you can receive in the new kit.  Awesome deal.

Better get back to work!

Bear with me please

Well, after spending 6+ hours trying to update this website, I gave up and scrubbed my frustration away in the bathroom.  So, I have a sparkly clean bathroom, but only a few changes (that I made late last night) to the site.  Sorry.  I think it’s a combination of slow connection, under supply of band width (for the entire U.P of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin), and it being a weekend.  I have all the photos uploaded and ready to go, but the site keeps timing out and I’m losing all my changes.  sigh.  🙂

In the mean time, I will set up my camera and take photos of our club night project and be ready to have a post showing those cards for you.

Now that we are into February, I really hope I can find some crafting time.  (After I find my craft table!)  While I was waiting for the website to crash, I did put together our calendar of workshops & events.  I’ll post them here so they are in one place, but you can always see what’s coming up on the calendar on the bottom of the home page, or the lower right edge of this page.

One More Day!

Yes, only one more day until everyone can order from the new Spring/Summer 2014 idea book!    Yeah, so excited.  FINALLY got to play with some of the new papers last night (Ivy Lane) and fell in love with them.  When I first got the new idea book, I liked some of the papers right away, and moaned about how others were going to push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me.  Now that I’ve actually gotten to sit down with the paper samples, I’m finding I love a couple, like a few I didn’t care for, and the one I was dreading is actually very nice!

14-ss-idea-book-coverIn just a few short hours this idea book goes live!  yeah

Also, you can now order idea books from my site (and add some new goodies in your basket to split shipping!)

I will be posting the photos of our club night project using some of the Ivy Lane paper soon.  Love them.  Funny thing is most of the gals did them just like I did and didn’t modify them.  That rarely happens!

Wrapping up Library Auction Pages

Well,  I think this will be the last post of library auction pages.  When I started this project I thought it would be a great fun, which it was, but I also was looking forward to some easy blog posts showing off my work.  That last part didn’t work out so well.   If you want to see all the pages in one spot, go to http://www.craftingwithamanda.com/rudyard-2/

The classic school themed pages aren’t there, but all the black & Orange pages are there.

Here is a layout that was created from the negative space when I cut the shape for “Shining Moments.”  The opening is the perfect size for a wallet photo.  This is a great page for a quick glance back over all the years.

I will be working on finishing the Scholastic paper layouts and the new workshops on the go.  I will also try and take photos and post the club night project.  (In case you can’t come and play with us!)

Happy Crafting.
