Great Deals this month

You’ve probably already heard about the deal this month.  If you order one or both of the new roll up organizers,  markers or accessories,  you receive some free product.  In the case of the roll up accessories,  or embellishment organizer you receive two new base and bling style sheets.  With the maker organizer, you receive the Balloon Wishes stamp set.  I had heard some mixed reviews from consultants who had purchased them early (without taking advantage of the free deals),  but I didn’t want to bias myself,  so I stopped reading the reviews and waited until my arrived in the mail.   (Of course they arrived the afternoon after I left for a week with the kids to go to my Mom’s house.)

Now that I am back home,  car is unloaded and club night is done,  I can tell you what I think about these organizers.   First,  they both have a hanging loop from one of the short ends.  I especially like this on the marker roll up.   The markers fit in well, not too tight,  not too loose,  you can see the colors easily.  I think all roll out on my craft table it would take up too much room,  but hanging from a hook off the front of my table,  or on the wall beside my table,  I will have easy access to them and be able to pack them quickly for any crops!  I really like it.

The accessories roll up also has some great features.  You can move the zippers to only open one compartment at a time,  or have all of them opened at once.  It holds lots,  easy to see what you have and again,  would be quick to pack.   All that wonderfulness being said,  for   everyday crafting it’s not my thing.  I can see me using it for workshops as I could write on the plastic part of each pocket how many they are suppose to take of each thing,  but for personal use,  I will stay with the method I have using the Large Organizers & photo holders bins.

Would love to hear what you think of the new roll up organizers.  (Wouldn’t be the first time someone has found a great use and I’ve kicked myself for not having enough of that item!)

Quick Creation Time

This uses the new Zoe paper & some of the current Blossom Paper.  I’m still trying to use up scraps and sneak some crafting time in around Mom, farm, bookwork and other duties!

Zoe&Blossom_Card

I ran the centers of the flowers through using the dotty embossing folder.  (Not sure the photo shows it.   Also used the bone folder to curve the edges of the petals a little.

The sentiment is from the August SOTM Framed.  The shape is cut with the new Cricut Artistry Cartridge!

Techniques Patchwork & Faux Stitching

The 4th of July celebrations were minimal around here with tractor duties and laundry.   We did manage to end the day as a family with an icy treat and fireworks.  That was nice.

I also managed to take a few more photos of the completed technique tags. (Still have some craft time in my future to finish the rest!  yay)   That means I have some more techniques to share with you.  I’ve really enjoyed being able to re-visit techniques that I have forgotten about,  or just haven’t taken the time to do them.

You may have noticed that I’ve used the same stamp sets and colors for all of the tags.  Part of that is so the completed book is prettier, but most of all it was to show the versatility of stamps when you employ different techniques as you use them.

Faux Stitching is a fast and fun way to add some framing or interest to your project.  After I finished the “stitching” around the bicycle,  I wish I would have done it closer to the edge of the white paper,  but I do think it looks pretty real.

I really like this patchwork for using up scraps too.  I will attach strips of left over paper to typing paper then cut it up as accent pieces on my project.

If you don’t want to cut out (or punch) an image,  you can always use it to fill in the negative space of a punched image.

Happy Crafting and Good Luck!

Time flies!

Made it through Chorus Concerts, Christmas shopping, fevers running through the members of the house, family & friend celebrations and bringing in the New Year.  Now back to finding my craft table and playing a bit.

I don’t have it ready for today’s blog, but I did carve a little craft time and used some wrapping paper my Aunt used on my gift to create some cute winter themed thank you notes.  I plugged the battery from the camera in the charger and I should have photos for you soon!

In the mean time, I want to show this great paper kit Close to My Heart has put together for this month.

This video shows you all the wonderful CTMH  product you recieve when you purchase this kit, and soon I will have some alternative project(s) so show you.  (As soon as I find my crafting desk!)
